Best Pool Villas in Phuket

What is better than dawdling in a swimming pool in a tropical paradise like Phuket? A calmer, cleaner and safer substitute to taking a dip in the sea, you can swim a length or two if you’re feeling energetic, if you’re feeling thirsty take a seat at a swim-up bar or just float around in the water if you want to relax and cool off from an intense sunbathing session. Children in the family will always have fun playing in the pool, and the deeper ones are also magnificent training grounds if you are learning to scuba dive. Pools are very popular, though, and a small busy pool can severely hamper your style. Make sure that you always have space to extend your water wings and relish yourself in peace and comfort, so we have drawn up a list of the 7 Biggest Hotel Pools in Phuket.

Best pool Villas in Phuket

Le Meridian Phuket Beach resort

Despite looking like one jumbo pool, Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort has two, each with a distinct atmosphere to it. The bigger of the two forms a lagoon around the breakfast buffet restaurant. It is 90m wide and 60m long,  and very deep in parts, so it is not that bizarre to see trainee divers exploring the area under the restaurant. Not far away is a shallower free-form pool which, with its two Jacuzzi sections, is ideal for parents and children. Large pool seamlessly blends into the 26.5m lap pool, which is also pretty deep. Don’t worry about safety, though – the lifeguards on staff are all trained to the Australian gold standard.

Angsana Laguna Phuket

If you are planning to swim the whole length of the Angsana Laguna Phuket swimming pool, you need to cancel any plans you had for the afternoon first. At 323m across, it could take you a while! The only reason it does not rate higher on our list of the 5 Biggest Hotel Pools in Phuket is that its freeform design consists of three large bodies of water with coupling channels, mirroring the lagoon the hotel is situated amongst. There is even a slight current in places, allowing you to drift from one pool to the next effortlessly. Other features include water polo nets, an artificial beach, shallower areas for the kids and a couple of poolside dining options.

Phuket Mariott Resort & Spa, Merlin Beach

Phuket Marriott Resort & Spa is located on the southern outskirts of the city, close to Tri Trang Beach stretched over a total area of 3,880 sqm, but that number is divided into three broad individual pools, each over a square kilometre in size. Each has a small atoll of tiny garden islands. One is primarily for the minors and is universally shallow, featuring a water fountain and a slide. The second pool has a swim-up bar. The third has a three-storey waterfall, pool access suites and sun loungers on the islands, which can be reached using footbridges.

Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa Phuket

The lagoon pool of Thavorn Beach Village & Spa stretched over  4,900 sqm. It is not just big for Phuket, it is amongst the most significant freeform pools in all of Southeast Asia.  Well deserving the comparison to a laguna, the giant body of water compliments the resort’s natural surroundings. There are also some arcane corners to explore, with cascading waterfalls, bridges, beautiful tropical gardens and Thai sculptures to find. The pool area is fully supervised, it has facilities for water polo, shallower areas for kids, sunbeds and pool access suites.

Duangjitt Resort, Phuket

There are three pools at the Duangjit Resort & Spa in Patong. Of the three, first two are not especially impressive. The third pool, however, is so big that it has an isle in the middle. Over 100m long and about 60m broad at its widest point, it has a poolside bar which also delivers snacks and is ringed with sun loungers and umbrellas. It is not just set in the hotel’s 36 acres of lovingly landscaped gardens – the large isle is an integral part of it, playing host to a natural garden.

Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort

Outrigger is decidedly a family destination, and the excellent and inventive organized children’s activities here rotate on a weekly basis. Children will enjoy themselves in the three swimming pools, one of which features one of the longest water slides on the isle and families can revel in the absolute beachside location. Still, Outrigger is also no slouch when it comes to meetings and conventions and has the most modern and futuristic business center and facilities in Phuket.

Holiday Inn Resort

The first thing you will notice about Holiday Inn Phuket is the how many beautifully maintained pools there are: two substantial communal pools are found at either end of the resort, with a private free-form pool exclusively for the Busakorn-type room guests and a secluded children’s paddling pool. Of the two communal pools one is designed for adults, the other for families. There are elephant sculptures and fountains dotted around pumping jets of water into the air and plenty of sunbeds for all guests.
